emotional calisthenics

Today, in the midst of madness at work, i heard from the sellers, who sent me a long written response to my request to reduce the price of the HIL. Not unsurprisingly, they gave me a polite but firm "no".

My heart sunk, and I tried to figure out how to forget out this house, and start the search for houses all over again. I was sad.

But then I kept reading (they sent me a 2 page letter to say "no") and realized, down near the bottom of page 2, that the answer was really not "no", but was instead "no, but..."

Turns out, they wouldn't lower the price, but they would give on some other things - not much, but enough.

So.............. (drum roll please)

the H.I.L. is MINE!!!!
