OOMC

I am a control freak.

This is not a new thing - it's part of my DNA. I try not to let it take over, but the control-o-rama part of my brain is pretty loud.

As a result, I'm most stressed out when things are Out Of My Control.

Like right now, for example. We (my realtor and I) have submitted to the sellers my proposal, and now we wait. The seller's agent said that tomorrow would be the soonest we'd hear back.

I am deathly afraid that they will be offended at the request, or think that it's an effort to shake them down for money. If so, they could yank the deal and sell the house to someone else. Their agent has already told us that there is someone waiting in the wings who has offerred more $ than I did. But this would mean starting all over with someone new. And that person's inspections will probably reveal the same things mine did, and that person's appraisal could come in low, too...

My (rather fervent) hope is that (1) they want to get this done with sooner rather than later (I offerred, as part of my proposal, to close a week earlier) so stick with me, and (2) they realize that I love the house, I'm reasonable, and that this is just a proposal, not a demand.

I feel that what I'm asking for is fair (a reduction in the price to cover the repairs identified in the inspection reports), but still... who knows how they will see it?

It is Out Of My Control, completely.

I am scared and just praying that they won't make me wait too long to hear their response.
