4-day H.I.L. report

On Thursday, it rained.
And I got a call from my realtor about a house.
And then I left work to drive over in the pouring rain to look at the house.
And I fell in LOVE with the house. It is the House I Love.
And then I called my realtor, my banker, my financial planner, my sister, my friend, and my mother about the H.I.L.
And then the realtor told me that if I wanted the H.I.L. I would have to jump on it.
I decided I needed to sleep on the decision on the H.I.L.

On Friday, it rained again, but not too much.
And the people buying my house signed all the final paperwork to make it a done deal.
Also, I put most of my stuff in storage.
And then I called my realtor and told her I wanted to make an offer on the H.I.L.
And then I scrambled to get pre-approved for a loan.
And then I met my realtor to go over the disclosure package for the H.I.L.
And then my realtor told me that the people selling the H.I.L. would not be willing to hear my offer that day. We would have to wait to present it tomorrow.
I went to bed for the last time in my old house, which was mostly empty.

On Saturday, it was sunny.
I woke up thinking about the H.I.L. and very sore from lifting boxes.
And I moved the last of my things out of my old house, which was sad.
And then I moved into my little studio apartment. And by "little", I mean TINY.
And then I heard from my realtor that the presentation of my offer on the H.I.L. went well (good news) but that there were other offers being present (v. bad news).
And then I talked again to my banker, my financial planner, my sister, my mother, and two of my friends.
And then I spent hours producing and signing various documents and driving into town to fax them (my fax machine is packed).
At about 8:00 pm, my realtor called me to tell me I got a counter-offer, and I was very happy to be still in the running for the H.I.L.
Then I ran the numbers on the counter-offer and decided I could do it.
Also I freaked out a little.
And then I called my realtor back and told her I wanted to accept the deal on the H.I.L.
And then I went to bed in my little studio apartment but did not sleep.

Sunday was slightly overcast.
I was very tired.
But I got up early to drive to my realtor's office to officially accept the counter-offer, which was to expire at noon.
And then I went to church, and loved loved loved it.
And then I by the H.I.L. to absorb the reality of it (the Open House was still going on - too late for them to cancel it - so I got to walk through it again).
And then I ran into my friend's little brother who just happens live a few doors down from the H.I.L. - how cool!
And then I went to the office to get some paperwork together for the loan.
And then I went back to my little studio apartment -- which is not unpacked or settled in any way -- and collapsed.

(don't ask me about yesterday - it is all hazy and I'm not sure what happened.)

I hope it will all be official real soon - you really have your finacial act together - I really admire that.

Congratz on finding the H.Y.L.
Praying everything gets done quickly so you can move out of that tiny place and move on with your next step.

Hey Congrats!! Good for you being a home owner and all. I bought my own HIL 7 years ago despite it's run down shape (foreclosure) and I've never regretted it. Good luck!
