Nice, Nice, CRAZY
Nice #1 OK, y’all are so nice!! Thank you so much for the encouraging words and lovely comments on my last post, and for not making me feel like a whiney spoiled brat stamping her petulant foot, which I kind of suspect I am.
Nice #2 My fabulous sister is hosting a small baby shower for me this weekend. My mom is coming into town and we’re having some family members get together at my sister’s house for a shower. She planned the whole thing, sent out hand-made invitations, and everything. SUPER nice.
Crazy: I think the shower tomorrow makes me extra freaked out about not having a referral. I realized last night that I feel GUILTY attending a baby shower for me and not havin
g a referral. Guilty!!!
Part of me feels like it’s my responsibility and I've screwed it up by not getting it done in time. I'm verging on full-on crazy.

How wonderful to be having a shower!! And don't worry about not having a referral as most women, when given a shower, don't have their baby yet. ;-) They may have sonograms, but you've got FBI approved fingerprints!

Enjoy your fabulous shower. Your loved ones enjoyed planning it for you, you'll enjoy the tiny little gifts--it'll be a 12 thumbs up kind of day.

Baby showers are the best, and you can just enjoy it. No one thinks you did something wrong because you don't yet have a pix or a child. I'm trying to remember if you were raised Catholic, or if this guilt all came from our high school! But, either way, drop the guilt, enjoy the shower, and do all the things now that you won't be able to do so easily when you've got Sprout (you can still do them, but it will cost you $10/hour to do them alone!) Happy Solstice.
ENJOY your shower! Your family understands and want to do this with you. Love every second of it! Take pictures to show your baby someday! And, when I'm feeling a bit on the insane side, I try to go with it by announcing to my husband that I'm 'running for mayor of CrazyTown' today....be strong.
It's not your fault at all, but I think those are completely normal feelings. I hope you're able to enjoy your shower today.
She is coming in her time and it's great that your family knows that and is celebrating that with you.
