today in the south of france...

Nice is nice. (What a fun sentence.) Even a very early breakfast meeting didn't seem too brutal as we got to watch the sun rise from the restaurant windows.

Then we spent the day in conference rooms at a company up in Sophia-Antipolis, which is kind of the Silicon Valley of southern France. Finally, came back to Cannes to the hotel to regroup. Some of us have a business dinner - YAY! NOT ME!!

I'm going to just hang out in Cannes for the evening.

The town of Cannes is all decked out for the holidays. There are all kinds of Christmas lights up and lots of people out on the streets shopping. They have a special "village du Noel" set up - kind of like a farmer's market/ craft fair thingy with little huts all packed with Christmassy stuff to buy, and roasted Chestnuts and Vin Chaud and even Pere Noel himself made an appearance.

It's chilly but not too cold to walk around, which is nice. I took a walk last night while trying to stay awake when I just arrived, and will do the same tonight after some emailing... hard to keep these heavy lids from closing, but I know I'll regret it if I go to bed too early!

Tonight I'm going to venture out with another person in my group in search of a little cafe for a small bite for dinner.

Tomorrow I will have some free time to look around. I am so bummed I didn't think to bring a camera!!

I do envy you too - Have a drink at a place called Via Notte, and if you have time, check out the private beach at Bijou Plage...
