I am somewhat shallow and purple in spirit
On November 1st, I changed my background color to purple in support of Elle's excellent initiative to raise awareness of National Adoption Awareness Month.
However, I tried 4 different shades of purple, and they all look goddawful with my template. The only one that did not make me want to puke was so dark that it didn't even look purple.
So, being the shallow person that I am, after 5 days of being eggplant, then violet, then dark purple, then plum, I'm changing back to my delicious dark chocolate brown. (sorry, Elle)
But I'm adding the "Go Purple" badge to my sidebar and will keep it there the whole month.
(See it? Up there on the right)
I am still purple in spirit. :-)

I didn't even try to go purple, so you are way better then me;-)
It still looks good and you still have all the right things on the page!
Purple reminds me of the raspberry Bonne Bell lipsmacker I had when I was 12. It melted in my pants pocket once and left this nauesous stench deep in my nose for days and days. My room reeked of it and I lost my sense of taste and smell for a few days.
So I have a fear of purple.
