good people, part 2
OK, remember when I was over the moon because my friends Amy and Jamie gave me 15,000 United Airlines frequent flier miles (and were also just generally awesome)?
Well, my wonderful friend Ginger (who I've known since high school and who is super-fabulous) read about that and offered to give me a bunch of her miles too.
Holey moley people, stop being so incredibly nice! I can barely keep up.
Sadly, United Airlines (AKA Curmudgeon Airlines) would not cooperate. Seems there is a 15,000 mile per year cap on how many miles any one person can be given. I thought it was 15,000 miles per donor. Nope, it's 15,000 per donee (that would be me). Boo!!
But, ever the intrepid and creative gal, Ginger did a workaround. She gave those miles to the fair Clare, who will (almost certainly) be accompanying me to Ethio as my handmaiden and partner in crime.
How cool is that, I ask you?? Very. Very cool.
Ginger, you ROCK!! Thank you!

I bow down at the altar of Ginger! She's the best!
WAY cool!
Gotta love those good friends!
That's awesome!
well I guess I better now use those miles for a trip to mexico then : ) c
OMG, the generosity of people shouldn't amaze me, but it still does. Please kiss these fabulous women for me too, as just knowing they exist in the world makes me a happy girl.
The nice thing too, is that come January 1, you can get an additional donation from anyone who wants to donate. You probably won't travel before then, and that will give you that many more miles to work with!
Well, know that I have confirmation of how fabulous I am, I'm going to be tough to live with! But, really, I'm just hoping Clare gets somewhere on those miles, since I rarely go anywhere. And, I'm pretty sure 15k miles gets you to San Jose, CA, Clare, not Mexico!!
How fantastic!
Hmmm, I have considered soliciting for airmiles. Maybe I will drop it into casual conversations from now on.
Meanwhile, EVERYTHING is going on my visa in a mad effort to accumulate the approximately 200,000 miles I am currently short for 2 adult tickets. Thank God I am renovating...
