A - Z

Kate M and Elle put this out as an open tag ... and I'm too pooped to come up with any real content of my own.

So, here goes:

A is for age: I am of a certain age. ‘nuf said.

B is for beer: not a big fan of beer, but Fat Tire Ale is OK.

C is for career: I'm a lawyer. I know – on the popularity scale, Lawyer = Used Car Salesman. I can only say that I'm not that kind of lawyer. I work at a software company. The only time I've been in a courtroom was when I had jury duty.

D is for my dog’s name: India. So named because she looks like a tiger. All orange and black stripey.

E is for essential item used everyday: See “D”, above. Not really "used", but essential.

F is for favorite color: lipstick red. Also, cobalt blue. And some greens. And certain yellows. Hmmm. What is the color of indecision?

G is for game: Trivial pursuit. Or anything that involves recall of totally useless information.

H is for hometown: San Rafael, CA. Yes, the same town I am moving *back* to in 2 weeks.

I is for instruments I play: ummm, my iPod? Used to play piano, hand bells(!), recorder, guitar.

J is for favorite juice: not quite “juice”, but, my absolute fav is the “Arnold Palmer” (½ and ½ lemonade and iced tea.)

K is for who’s butt I’d like to kick: fundamentalist right-wing Christians, who make me almost embarrassed to identify myself as Christian.

L is for last place I ate: the little card table that is acting as my desk/dining table/counter/coffee table while I’m staying in this little studio apartment....

M is for marriage: I really hope so, but not unless he is really worth it. See “W”, below.

N is for my name: my first name, which no-one (except my mother) uses: Emily.

O is for overnight hospital stays: Five, in all. 4 surgeries (relatively minor) and one big, almost-dead, sickness.

P is for people I was with today: My friend Nicole, then my mom and my older sister.

Q is for quote: "Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." - Mahatma Gandhi

R is for biggest regret: no, thank you.

S is for sport: to watch: college hoops. to do: rowing.

T is for traveled to:

In the US: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, D.C, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.

Outside the U.S.: Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Denmark, East Germany (when it existed), France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the U.K., and Zimbabwe.

U is for current underwear: Cotton, high-cut briefs. Light grey. *yawn*

V is for vegetable I adore: Spinach. Also, Portobello mushrooms.

W is for wish: A strapping, brilliant fireman who worships the ground upon which I walk and, just for kicks, likes to whip up gourmet meals and clean the house.

X is for x-rays I have had: knees (3 surgeries), arms (3 breaks), spine. Wow, am I glowing?

Y is for youthful ambition not fulfilled: To be a pediatrician. Also, to fly.

Z is for zodiac: Western: Taurus. Chinese: snake. Not a true believer, but it's fun to read my horoscope. :-)

I'll spare anyone a direct tag -- but feel free to jump on this for your own blog if you are similarly uninspired.

Wow you are the third female lawyer I know who has a thing for firefighters (I was lucky enough to marry a volunteer one who cooks but does not clean... 2 out of 3)

I envy your travels.
