limpy puppy

my dog is limping. not a little limp, but a big-time, put no weight on the leg, walk like a 3-legger kind of limp.

and it is, sadly, a familiar limp.

last year, i spent about eleventy million dollars (perhaps a slight exaggeration) on knee surgery for her when she blew her left rear knee out. the vet warned me that 40% of dogs who need the surgery on one of their legs will need it on at least one other.

damn those odds! looks very much like the same kind of limping she did last year, but this time it's the (formerly) good, right side. poor thing. she's no spring chicken (9ish) but she is in otherwise great shape, and loves to run and play. so there's no way i'm going to let it go, even if it does mean another eleventy million bucks. ugh.

first thing tomorrow i'm calling the vet and hope to be able to bring her in ASAP.

please think good thoughts that it's something that can be fixed more easily, and with less trauma to both my dog and my wallet!
