cold and broke
OK, those of you in less temperate parts of the world will laugh at me, I'm sure, but MAN it was cold here this morning. It was 29 degrees, people!! There was actual ice on my windshield and I had to sit in my car for a long time with the defroster going before I could even make the windshield wipers work to clear it off. I know, I know, I am a complete California wuss. Sad but true. :-)
I took India out to do her business this morning and she looked at me as if I were insane. She hobbled around a bit, did a quick pee, but refused to do anything more, and just made a beeline back to the Great Indoors where it is warm. I guess my dog is a California wuss too.
My sister is trying to sell her house, and has had a couple of people circling, but no good firm offer yet... I'm really hoping something will solidify soon, because she desparately needs the cash from the house. She's in a really bad financial situation, but has taken responsibility for it, isn't blaming anyone else for it, and is working hard to dig out. She's made huge changes is her behaviors and habits and thinking about money... it's really impressive. I know stuff like this doesn't resolve overnight, but it's hard to wait to see someone benefit from so much hard work.

I am feeling really good reading about all of these cold and snow posts while I sit here in Maryland with 60 degree and sunny weather. I know, it (the cold front) will hit us over the weekend, but I am enjoying it now.
I think our sisters are twins because my sister is in the same spot. She has been trying to sell her home unsuccessfully for a long time and is actually juggling two mortgages. They are sinking under the financial strain. The market is just terrible right now- everywhere. It is too bad.
OOohhh enjoy the snow!
I wish your sister the best of luck getting herself in order - sounds like she is being very brave!
thanks, lee lee! I would add that although I'd like to be more saintly, I do ascribe some of my money headache to some bad luck too. Downsized, outsourced, underbid, overwhelmed, up a creek? My situation is a pain in the arse, but not desperate, thank goodness.
Heehee...I'm ready to freeze at this point....bring it on. Not that I like it but I'm ready all the same.
I hope the best for your sis as she gives it a real go at getting things turned around.
It is supposed to snow here on Monday. Not looking forward to that.
