Whatev

Today I overheard a hip 20-something say the following sentence to her friend:

"Whatev."

She could not be bothered to actually finish the word. )I thought the "whatever" response so popular nowadays perfectly demonstrated the general apathy of the speaker. But know I know it's possible to be even more apathetic.)

Man, I feel like an old codger.

I've said whatev (actaully, I say "whatevs") but usually only in my writing, rarely in speech.

And you ARE an old codger. But revel in your codger-ness. Let's start a codger pride movement.

:-)

I like to say, "Yeah. Big fat whatev to that." Ususally only to my twenty something sisters. Sort of negates the whole point of the abreviation, but whatev.

I am also an old codger. I can't stand listening to some teens & 20-somethings talk. Thank God they're not all like that.

That's hysterical! I'm going to use it. There are days I definitely can't seem to finish a sentence, let alone a word. I'll take the hip word, I'm not too proud! :)
