new referrals, new look

I was thrilled to find out today (thanks, Paige!) that TWO people who are using the same adoption agency as I am got their referrals this week - and in both cases they waited 5 months.

That is such great news, because I've been secretly (OK, not very secretly) really counting on getting my referral by Christmas. It's the one thing I have told everyone and I tell myself, too, when I start to spin out about how long I might have to wait.

But, I've been seeing some looooong referral waits out there and have started to quietly despair that I might be waiting much longer than I thought. And I'm telling you, if Christmas comes and goes with no referral for me, I will be in a bad place.

But then I got the great news of the two relatively short referral waits, and that has both buoyed my spirits AND made me impatient all over again. :-)

You probably also noticed that I changed the template of this blog - mostly because I think the dark background/light lettering is a lot easier to read. But stay tuned, I might change it again at any time... I'm like that.

Did you change the look again today or are my eyes playing tricks. I thought as of this morning the site had a black background and now it looks more chocolatey. I know it had a white background two days ago.

Maybe I'm just hungry but it looks different again.

MMM Chocolate.

The internets hopes you get your referral by Christmas too. :-)

Christmas sounds GREAT to me! My BIG goal is to have court in March...so that I can use all my 12 weeks FMLA before school ends in the summer. So a referral by Christmas would be FAB! It might be a tad unrealistic for me (hello--can you say no hs and no accreditation???) but i persist in hoping!

Forgive the comment, please, and feel free to delete it after you've responded to me.

I linked to your blog last night from my own, one I just started with my wife, chronicling our own Ethiopian adoption experience. I was going to email you to see if you would link back to us, but I can't find anything on the site about how to reach you.

The site is http://addusababy.blogspot.com
and we would greatly appreciate the link.

Thanks,

Travis
