holey moley

Do you know this is?

It's a freakin' Form I-171H, that's what it is!!!

Sexy, it'tn it?

For those of you not in the freaky little adoption world, this is the golden ticket - it's the very last document that you need to wait for before you can send you dossier overseas and officially begin the wait.

And it came SO DAMN FAST, I'm not even done getting all my other little docs notarized. Most people wait weeks, and often months, for this little slip of paper.

I got my fingerprints taken on June 28th. The date on this thing in June 29th.

ONE DAY. My I-171H took one day to get processed. Of course, I was away and so just got this today - practically a week later - in the pile of mail to be opened....

So now I'm on the super fast track to get all my crap together. Have to finish writing my letter to the Ethiopian gov't. Have to drive to Sacramento to get some of my notarized signatures certified by the state. Then I can package up my dossier, and send it off to my agency to get translated.

Woo frickin' hoo!

Oooo...yours is prettier than mine. Doesn't it feel good to have the US government say they think you are qualified to parent? Now I just need the Russian government to concur...

You're nearly there!

word verification says omzwhen. wonder what omz is and when it will happen...

Congrats! That is indeed the golden ticket!!! Boy was that fast! Wish the LA office was that fast. Ours took 10 weeks after fingerprinting. :(

Oh my MAUDE!!!!!!!

I am so excited for you! This is it my friend--you are so close. Let me know if you'd like to see our abysmally boring letters to help you finish writing yours.

xoxo

This must be the envelope I saw come in while you were away. It somehow just LOOKED like it was very important - the dead giveaway was the governmental return address with the handwritten word "ORPHAN". What a weird old-fashioned yet technically accurate word.
