JunieB describes the general state of her house and it sounds just like mine!
For example, here is what is currently gracing the top of my desk (excluding standard computer equipment and desk supplies):
· My iPod & charger
· A card reader that I use to transfer photos from camera to ‘puter
· A ziploc back filled with the documentation for my new hard drive
· A giant stack of bills and paperwork that I recently swept off the dining room table after letting them pile up for 3 weeks, and put here so I will deal with them. Because clearly that is working.
· A roll of blue painter’s tape
· A purple flash drive that my sister left here. I always find random bits of flotsam after she has been here. Cracks me up.
· The cap to a long-gone bottle of Pellegrino
· 9 lightbulbs in their packages
· A box-cutter
· A CD with the backup of my 2006 Quicken file
· A Vincent Longo cheek and lip stain in “My Sunshine” (which the Sephora site will tell you is a "deep warm red" color and this is a lie!!! It is orange. ORANGE, I tell you.)
· A complete set of photocopies of my dog’s vet records.
· The fabric tie that used to be attached to my seat cushion. It was tied to the back of the chair to, you know, keep the cushion in place. That worked for about 2 milliseconds before ripping right out.

I don't think Blogger lets you make comments long enough to encompass what is on my desk. It would include things like scanners, printers, iPods, wireless mouse do-hickeys, artwork, paper, paints, pliers, pens, rechargeable batteries that are not charged, stack after stack of sticky notes, journals, papers, books, my camera, cds, photos of the boy, more papers and my favorite thing... a small acrylic "rock" that says, "Quality only happens when you care enough to do your best."
And you know... I used to be a neat desk person.
Ha!! I love your list. We keep trying to clean the desk, but in order to see some of the surface, the piles at the end keep getting higher. Ugh!! Oh well. 8^)

Let's see... I'm guessing you mean the desk at home so I'm going off of memory here.

Headphones, 3-hole punch, stapler, tape dispenser w/no tape, camera, cord (camera to computer), various pieces of paper (tracking packages & receipts), Dr Pepper, perhaps some gummie bears. I think that's about it. :o)

home - one 5 x 7 picture, clinique make up set, box of tissues, laptop!
I just cleaned my desk so it's in pretty good order, for today. Ask me in a week. So, only one pile of to-do's, an inbox for filing, a photo of my doggy Ben (oh-so-cute), some sticky notes with random things and a CD of John Mayer, waiting to be played at my next bill paying session...ahh.
I assume that there is a desk under here somewhere (I'm at work). Things aside from the mountains of paperwork are: Two pictures of seamonkey and my wedding pic, a knitting calendar, a wooden box someone brought me back from El Salvador, a box of Godiva hot chocolate (also a gift), CD player, 2 hair clips, Vanilla Bean Noel hand lotion, 2 company mugs, a water bottle,my blackberry, assorted writing utensils and altiods. YAWN
9 lightbulbs? Ok.... you win. :-) (Personally, I keep my extra lightbulbs on top of the dryer.)
Ok so problem I have TWO desks the one you gave me that has this nice handy pull out tray so you can stack all your piles of paper work and then HIDE them : ) lulling your self into a stat of denial that there are unpaid bills check that need to be deposited and taxes to me dealt with in those piles... so I'll ignore the second desk behind me as I usually do.... and just comment on the one I "work" at... today it's pretty clean I've got 4 empty wine bottles (for refrence for my work) and one empty beer bottle that was to "help" with work last night... I've got the usual external drives, printer, mouse etc... a pair of scissors an empty box of truffles, birth control an electric fence catalog a print cartridge I didn't mean to open now shoved back into it's wrapper.. my lovely moleskin book you gave me : ) an empty water glass a dirty spoon and my pen and pencil holder and my trusty roladex... humm there seems to be a food and beverage theme on my desk...
