fired

Well CBS finally got brave enough (after a slew of national advertisers pulled their ads) to fire Don Imus for his racist, sexist remarks.

Well done.

So, where does that leave us? What about the misogynistic lyrics and images in the rap and hip-hop music industry? Would love to see someone speak out against the way women are consistently portrayed as (and called) hos and bitches...

Don't kid yourself. CBS wasn't brave at all, they just caved under pressure. Time and time again they have not stood up for what is right, or caved under pressure to do "the right thing". They are self-serving, and the bottom line is advertising dollars, FCC fines, and bad publicity.

I gotta say...I think I agree with the last commentor.

Ah well, it is still a benefit.

Yes, that's the sad truth. I never liked the guy anyway, but I did what everyone else should have done - not listened to him. The more attention you give him the more powerful his words become.

yeah, I'm with y'all.

I never listened to him -- nor do I listen to Howard Stern or any of the other "shock-jock" idiots out there.

But when I read about what he said in the mainstream media, it pissed me off enough to put it up here...
