picture this, part 2

No, you are not seeing things... there is a photo in this post. (As there was in the last post.)

And that can only mean one thing, right?

Right! I got my camera!!!

(Didn't get the Fab Lens though - they only had two lenses in stock: crappy and crappier. So I bought the crappier one, since either one was essentially a throwaway lens. I'm on waiting list for the right one... then this one can be the emergency backup.)

I am so so SO happy. Spent half the day just walking around the ranch and taking pictures of nothing. :-)

This is a shot of some grapevine tendrils -- amazing how a vine attaches itself to the trellis wires. Grabs on, wraps itself around and around and holds on for dear life.

Tenacious!

And that's how I'm hoping to be with this adoption process -- just hang on, no matter what. And document every frickin' step of the way with photos.

Wow! I'm very impressed if that's the crappy lens.

I think that's an amazing photo.

Have fun!

Glad to see you broke down and bought the camera.

PS Did you say "ranch"? Where the hell do you live? Did I miss that somehow? Hey you might be interested in Connie's bathroom accessories....LOL!

i like your label :)

at first glance it looked liked barbed wire. so is that autofocus, or did you manually change all the settings?

thanks, Fatwonkkid.

I set the lens on macro, so super-shallow depth of field. (Which I kind of like for subjects like this.) But, yes, it was on autofocus - just have to pick your point of focus carefully at that range. :-)
